Tasting Notes Details

Single Harvest
Port - 1967

The grapes for this wine were picked in the same year that the Beatles released Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Today, it is ageing far more gracefully than Paul McCartney with massive aromatic intensity: you can smell its rich fruit cake and nutty bouquet from 10 paces. Having aged in barrel for five decades, there's a high tone to the bouquet but it adds to the complexity rather than detracts. Sweet and lush yet light on the palate with a buzz of warming alcohol on the finish. Interminable length.
